J88
“J88” is a notation on an Illinois driver’s license that alerts law enforcement officers, before they approach a vehicle, that a motorist is deaf or hard of hearing.
The Illinois Secretary of State's “J88” driver’s license notation is explained on page 9, in “A Guide to Services” “Serving Senior Citizens, Persons with Disabilities, and Veterans”.
